Braised peanut in dark soy sauce
This is a side dish I usually reject at restaurants because of its exorbitant price. Recently, I found out how to make this in super fast time and never lost a moment trying it. Looks like I have found a new use for my baking soda.
300g raw peanuts
1 tsp baking soda
1 Tsp dark soy sauce
1 Tsp sugar
2 star anise
Rinse raw peanuts.
Add baking soda and water to peanuts, making sure every peanut is soaked. Soak for 1 hour.
Discard water.
Braise peanut with fresh water for 1 hour, adding soy sauce, star anises and sugar.
Serve warm or cold on a pretty dish.
