Muah Chee ( Mochi )

I love Muah Chee , long before it is called Mochi. It reminds me of my mother, who slather every dessert she made with sugar and red coloring ( for good luck, maybe? ) I am a modern day woman, and befitting to this status, the muah chee is made by microwave. Okay, it sounds like an abomination but the kids love it. Kids ask for a doggy bag to bring back for night time snack. Every time you wonder why you need to fork out $2 for a few morsels of mochi hiding in a bed of peanut dust, go for this quick fix.

Ingredients:
Peanut and icing/castor sugar mix ( for dusting )

Dough
1 cup glutinous rice flour
1 cup cold water

Mix above ingredients thoroughly and pour into microwave proof bowl. Microwave full power and stir. Microwave another minute and stir again. The dough should be cooked now, yielding opaque white.

Coat with sugary peanut dust. Cut to bite size and serve.YUMMY!!
